Legal Counsel

32-40 hours per week, initially for one year, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Triple Jump offers professional asset management services to investors, including asset selection, portfolio management and fund administration. Our investor base includes institutional investors, development banks, governments, NGOs, and retail banks, all of whom seek to combine both financial returns with and social/environmental impact.



As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for the legal aspects of investment contracting and the disbursement process. You will assist our commercial team during the due diligence process and be the focal point within the organisation for general legal advice, as well as related to investments. You will follow-up on requests from clients regarding legal issues and documentation. In addition, you will fulfil a compliance role, supporting procedures are set-up and implemented correctly. 

Job description 

As Legal Counsel you will join the Legal team that currently consists of 7 other members. As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for the legal investment and divestment processes relating to the investments Triple Jump makes for the funds and mandates it manages, primarily for Triple Jump’s Fund of Funds mandate. This entails the preparation, review and negotiation the transaction documentation of primarily debt investments, and to a lesser degree also direct equity and various private equity funds as well as the legal set up and administration of the funds and mandates themselves. It includes the coordination of external legal counsel and collaboration with counsel of co-investors in joint fund transactions. It will be your responsibility to perform a broad variety of tasks, such as:

  • Drafting, reviewing and processing legal documents;
    -    NDAs, waivers, and other agreements;
    -    Loan Agreements, as well as amendments to existing loan agreements and corresponding       administration; 
  • Responsibility over legal processes:
    -    Handling correspondence with external parties, coordination of legalization requests;
    -    Liaising with notaries and embassies on legalizations and apostilles;
  • Administrative activities:
    -    Filing;
    -    Handling of declarations of residence and chamber of commerce certificates; 
  • Providing general legal support to the organization with respect to
    -    Fund and mandate structuring;
    -    Completion of KYC requests from third parties (e.g. investors/investees).


Job requirements

  • Bachelor legal degree ;
  • A law degree in the Netherlands or a common law jurisdiction preferred;
  • Fluent in Dutch, English; fluency in Spanish and/or French highly preferred;
  • Relevant legal experience, preferably in the financial sector;
  • Experience (> 3 years) in reviewing, negotiating and managing debt transactions preferred;
  • Experience in fund and/or mandate structuring and regulatory legislation (AIFMD, MiFID) preferred;
  • Awareness of developments in the legal and regulatory environment;
  • Ability to set priorities;
  • An eye for detail, quick learner, self-starter, good multi-tasker;
  • Hands-on; Pro-active; feels comfortable to take ownership;
  • The ability to create and uphold order and structure within assigned tasks;
  • Experience managing external counsel;
  • Capable of independent decision-making;
  • Good negotiation skills;
  • Culturally sensitive and a team player.

Triple Jump offers you:
